Join us.</div>The Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our innovative battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will spend the majority of your time (80%+) in the R&D and production lab, setting up, running, and analyzing a wide variety of tests. You will also be expected to develop Testers from the ground up, and support the broader test team with custom PCBs that will help simplify our Testers and reduce cost. Your work will directly contribute to our product development, certification, and overall success. Responsibilities and Duties <ul> <li>Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans for various needs, including certification, compliance, R&D, component validation, and lifecycle testing.</li> <li>Take primary ownership of hands-on test setup, including the wiring of thermocouples, power supplies, fuses, contactors, cameras, and cooling bench setups.</li> <li>Design and build custom R&D test setups to prototype novel concepts and investigate failure modes.</li> <li>Design PCBs and power electronics for in-house testers, with the goal of making them more capable, easier to operate, and cheaper to build. </li> <li>Build certification test setups from cell up to BESS-level for pre-compliance tests and live witness testing by certified test labs. </li> <li>Work directly with high-voltage DC and AC systems (up to 1000VDC, 600VAC), ensuring all safety protocols are rigorously followed.</li> <li>Operate and manage battery cyclers to perform tests on cells, modules, racks, and full BESS units.</li> <li>Set up and configure data acquisition systems (Agilent DAQ, NI) for data capture of various signals (CAN, ModBus, temperature, humidity, voltage, current, etc.)</li> <li>Utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters to diagnose and validate system performance.</li> <li>Create and develop scripts to automate test equipment, data gathering, and long-term tests.</li> <li>Analyze test data using Python, summarize findings, and create clear, concise reports and presentations for the engineering team.</li> <li>Support the team with abuse testing, including sample preparation and test setup coordination.</li> <li>Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate lab test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.</li> <li>Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and lab activities.</li> </ul> The Candidate We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.</li> <li>2+ years of experience in a hands-on testing, validation, or verification role.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience working safely with high-voltage DC and AC systems.</li> <li>PCB design experience (schematic capture and layout in Altium, KiCad, or similar), especially for test fixtures or low-volume hardware, with examples of past projects.</li> <li>Proven ability to create test plans, design experiments, and document results.</li> <li>Hands-on proficiency in wiring, soldering, and assembling complex electro-mechanical test setups.</li> <li>Experience with data acquisition hardware and software (DAQ systems, Python, etc.).</li> <li>Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as CAN or Modbus.</li> </ul>  <div class="content-conclusion">Why join us? <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Today, we’re delivering 5x the energy density and have all the certifications needed to ship energy independence to the world.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Be part of a mission-driven company focused on creating sustainable energy solutions and making a positive impact on the world.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Collaborate closely with passionate co-founders and a team committed to innovation and excellence.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to building and scaling a company from the ground up, where your work will have a direct and meaningful impact.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;">Thrive in a workplace that values collaboration, wellness, and celebrating successes, with regular company socials, fitness sessions, and more.</li> </ul>   We're a fast-paced and dynamic team.
