The OSE Technical Manager - Mechanical will lead the technical management of Zerra Owner Supplied Equipment for WDDP and ensure its successful integration into the overall building and campus design. Reporting to the Technical Director, the role will own the technical requirements, interfaces and assurance activities associated with mechanical OSE from specification and vendor engagement through delivery, commissioning and handover.

Working across design, procurement, construction, commercial and operations teams, the role will ensure equipment selections and vendor deliverables meet project requirements for safety, performance, resilience, maintainability, programme and whole-of-life value.

Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the technical requirements, specifications and performance criteria for mechanical Owner Supplied Equipment across WDDP.
  • Manage the integration of mechanical OSE into the building, campus and data-centre design, including all physical, hydraulic, electrical, controls and operational interfaces.
  • Coordinate vendor design information, technical submissions, calculations, drawings, data sheets and interface schedules through review and approval.
  • Work closely with design consultants and contractors to ensure equipment requirements are accurately incorporated into coordinated and buildable design documentation.
  • Support procurement and commercial teams with technical bid evaluations, tender clarifications, vendor selection, scope alignment and contract technical schedules.
  • Lead technical engagement with equipment manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring decisions and deviations are documented and resolved promptly.
  • Identify and manage OSE design risks, interface gaps, change impacts, long-lead constraints and dependencies affecting cost, programme, quality or operability.
  • Coordinate factory design reviews, inspection and test planning, factory acceptance testing and the close-out of technical observations and non-conformances.
  • Support logistics, site delivery, installation and construction teams with technical requirements for handling, access, assembly, connection and protection of equipment.
  • Provide technical assurance through installation, site acceptance testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing and handover to operations.
  • Maintain equipment registers, technical decision records, interface documents and vendor deliverables to support project controls and configuration management.
  • Promote standardisation and lessons learned across mechanical OSE selections while balancing project-specific requirements and opportunities for innovation.
