What's New on VCbacked: November 2026

We shipped a lot in October and the first week of November. Here's what changed for people who use VCbacked to find funded companies, hire, job hunt or research startups, and for founders whose companies are listed.

Add your startup to VCbacked

If your company has raised a funding round and isn't on VCbacked yet, you can now add it at vcbacked.co/submit-company. Fill in the company details and the latest round, add a link or document that shows the funding, and confirm with your work email. The email has to be at your company's own domain, so only people at the company can submit it.

There's a one-time $95 listing fee. Your listing goes live within 24 hours, usually within minutes, and includes a followed link to your website and 30 days in the new Featured startups section of our recently funded startups page.

As you type the company name, the form checks whether it's already listed, so you don't end up submitting a duplicate.

Fix your company's listing yourself

Founders and team members can now correct their own listing at app.vcbacked.co/update-listing. Pick your company, tick the fields that are wrong (description, headquarters, funding round, investors, founders and more) and enter the new values. Confirm the request from your work email and we apply it, usually within a day. Corrections are free.

Approved changes stick: they're protected from being overwritten when we refresh our funding data each month. You'll also find a Request a listing update link on every company page.

Cleaner search results and company profiles

We tidied up the search results and the company pop-up in the app. The changes are small but add up:

• Website, LinkedIn and add-to-list buttons sit next to the company name.
• Hidden contact emails now have a clear Reveal button.
• The funding panel shows the round, date and total raised together.
• In the company pop-up, the round type and date sit together, website and LinkedIn are simple links under the name, and investors and industries use the same tidy chips.

Original data reports

We've started publishing research from the VCbacked database. You're welcome to quote or chart the figures with a link back:

• The .ai land grab: 1 in 8 startups funded in 2026 uses a .ai domain, up from 3.4% in 2021.
• How founders format their email addresses: 66% use [email protected], with big differences by country.
• AI's share of startup funding: AI companies took 52.8% of venture dollars in the first half of 2026.
• Coming Friday: which day of the week startups announce their funding.

Better job search

Job search in the VCbacked app got a round of improvements:

• Published salary ranges are shown on jobs that list them, with a Shows salary filter.
• New filters for company stage and team size, and investor search understands nicknames like a16z and YC.
• Keyword search ranks title matches first, and location search matches whole place names instead of fragments.
• Jobs are dated by when they were posted, and older listings are labelled so you can focus on fresh roles.
• Shared job-search links keep their filters, even for people who aren't signed in.

Academic access for universities and libraries

Approved universities, libraries and research institutions can now get VCbacked for academic and research use: search across venture-funded companies, funding rounds, investors and founder names, plus CSV export. Librarians and faculty can request access for their institution at vcbacked.co/academic.

Billing, alerts and API improvements

• Billing settings now show your card on file, let you update it, and list past invoices. Link and bank payment methods display properly too.
• Saved-search alerts go out daily when new companies match a search you've saved.
• Weekly free companies: the five companies in our weekly email are the same five you can view free in the app.
• API: the Companies API now looks back 180 days, and the docs for the Jobs and Companies APIs are in one place at app.vcbacked.co/api. The MCP server for AI assistants is linked from the account menu.
• Onboarding: new users are asked what brings them to VCbacked. Job seekers go straight to jobs, and everyone else to company search.
